VIC: Energy sustainability awards for businesses
Business plans that include a consideration for energy sustainability can reduce the impact of many housekeeping expenses.
While the prices of gas, electricity, water and other utilities can affect overhead costs of an enterprise, ensuring that energy use is kept to what is necessary as much as possible can mean savings and environmental benefits.
The state of Victoria will be honouring those businesses, and organisations that have contributed significantly to issues of energy efficiency later in the year.
The 10th anniversary of the Premier's Sustainability Awards will take place in October this year, with finalists in each category announced in August.
"The awards recognise businesses, institutions, communities and individuals that have demonstrated leadership in taking actions that not only contribute to their bottom line but also foster a more sustainable future for Victoria," explained Victoria's minister for environment and climate change, Ryan Smith.
This year's awards will include a stronger focus on the built environment, with the introduction of a new category that celebrates excellence in sustainable design.
There will also be a new award for performance in improved resource efficiency and cost savings.
