Transform your bathroom into an energy efficiency paradise
While it might seem like the bathroom is a location that may use up a lot of water, it actually ends up using a lot of electricity too.
Think about it. There is the hot water cylinder heating up water for your taps and shower and perhaps even a washing machine. Then there are all the things you do in the bathroom such as using a hairdryer, electric toothbrushes and shavers, hair straighteners and more. It can all quickly start to add up and if electricity prices are high then your next utility bill may come as a shock.
Here are a couple of ways in which you can manage your home electricity usage in order to save yourself some money.
Turn down your water heater
Especially as the weather is getting warmer, there's no need to have your hot water cylinder up too high. Switch it down a couple of degrees and you'll save on costs.
Watch your usage
Of course one of the easiest ways to cut down on your bills is to reduce the amount of energy you're using. This can include having shorter showers or running your laundry on a shorter cycle, in order to spend less on heating.
Water saving showerheads can also help you to use less water while you're showering.
