Survey says Aussies want solar
Large-scale solar projects are being undertaken worldwide and the trend towards sustainable power sources is becoming stronger.
Not only can this kind of energy mean less of an impact on the environment, it can also lead to savings for households and businesses.
Solar rebates from the government can boost the budget of a sun-powered household, and storage and redistribution of unused electricity is also possible.
Electricity suppliers may become more likely to consider how solar projects can benefit their business, with the release of survey results that show most Australians are in support of large-scale solar projects.
According to the poll undertaken by 100% Renewable, 94 per cent of respondents said they would like to see projects similar to those currently underway in the US and Spain happen in Australia.
The survey also asked respondents if they agreed with the $10 billion federal government investment in solar projects - the Clean Energy Finance Corporation - and 95 per cent confirmed that they did.
In total, 12,000 people were polled between March and May this year, via a combination of face-to-face and online questions.
