QLD energy minister to tour local areas
Queensland energy minister Mark McArdle is continuing his tour of local councils in the state to hear what they have to say on electricity suppliers and gas suppliers.
Next week, he will be visiting councils in the Fraser Coast, South Burnett and Toowoomba regions.
Minister McArdle said he is excited to engage with communities about their expectations and visions for the local areas.
"I have had productive discussions with regional mayors so far and am keen to discuss electricity and water supply needs with the Fraser Coast Regional Council, South Burnett Regional Council and Toowoomba Regional Council."
Ergon Energy depots in Hervey Bay and Toowoomba will receive a visit from the minister, in thanks for their response to the devastation of Cyclone Oswald.
Mr McArdle said he is looking to personally thank the hard workers, whose "heroic efforts" assisted hard-hit areas.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council will be the first on the itinerary for the minister (February 24-25), with South Burnett next (February 26) and Toowoomba Regional Council the final stop on the tour (February 27).
