Gov't labelled energy failures
Federal shadow ministers have labelled the government's Solar Flagship program a failure after the Solar Dawn project in south-west Queensland was shut down.
Shadow minister for energy and resources Ian Macfarlane said that Labor's schemes continually turn to salt.
"Just days after the release of the Energy White Paper, the Gillard government’s flawed energy policy platform has again been exposed, with the collapse of a major plank of the government's green energy credentials," he said.
Macfarlane said that the government has failed Australia's energy sector for the last five years and hasn't driven down electricity prices that are hurting Australian families.
He added that the taxes on carbon and mining are only hurting investment in energy, while the Energy White Paper was overdue by years.
"The decision to pull the plug on the Solar Dawn project further reinforces the serious questions about the government's ability to plan and deliver a long-term energy and resources strategy," he said.
If you are facing rising electricity bills, then talk to a comparison and switching service and let them search on your behalf for a better deal for you and your family.
