Get the most out of your electric dryer
With electricity prices going up across the country, many Australians are probably looking for new ways to cut down on the amount of power they consume in their day to day lives.
One appliance which often goes unnoticed but can be a huge drain on energy is your humble clothes dryer.
There are a few easy ways you can cut down on the amount of electricity your dryer consumes however, such as purchasing one which is energy efficient.
An energy efficient dryer might be a bit more expensive at the time of purchase, but the savings you will make in the long run are often well worth it.
Another good option is to hang your clothes up on a washing line before putting them in the dryer to ensure they are not soaking wet.
This way they will take less time to dry, and thus your dryer will consume less electricity.
The most important thing is to remember to ensure that you are using your dryer to the manufacturer's specifications and not overloading or underloading it, as this will cause it to run inefficiently.
You will also want to clean out the lint catcher every time you use your dryer, as this will inhibit the flow of air and slow down the drying process.
So as you can see, by taking a few extra moments to do the laundry you can make sure that more cash ends up in your pocket rather than the hands of electricity suppliers.
