Established in 1995 following a merger between Prospect Electricity and Illawarra Energy, Integral Energy is the second largest state-owned energy corporation in NSW.

Integral energy was originally established to supply electricity to the Western Sydney and Illawarra regions of NSW, but it now operates in Queensland, and holds licenses to retail electricity in all of the regions in Australia covered by the National Electricity Market.

In total, Integral Energy distributes and retails electricity and services to 2.1 million people including 70,000 businesses in Greater Western Sydney, the Illawarra, and the Southern Highlands of NSW. Integral Energy declared $492 million EBITDA in 2008-9. Integral offer special low rates for businesses that use large quantities of electricity, as well as lighting solutions and green tariffs.
