Families across NSW are feeling the pinch as soaring energy
bills start to hit the hip pocket. State-wide changes are driving
bills upwards with the average household seeing bills increase by
around $200 over the year.
"Many families just can't afford these price hikes," says Tim
Wolfenden, CEO of electricity price broker www.makeitcheaper.com.au.
"Although many families across NSW are switching off power
hungry appliances, bills are still soaring," he says.
Shopping around for a better deal could mean serious
savings.

that's a lot of extra cash for the kids' Christmas presents," he

Wolfenden also advises families to look online before signing
any contracts offered by door-to-door electricity salespeople.
"Don't fall for their persuasive sales patter," he warns.
"These pushy door knockers aren't necessarily offering you a
good deal. Don't be intimidated into signing a contract on your
doorstep. Take their paperwork and go online to compare it with
other offers."
